Who is the Owner?

Dale Hillier is CEO and Founder of the Veteran’s Hub and Veteran Hotel & Pub. He has served 7.5yrs in Royal Navy and 7yrs in Merchant Navy. He carried out active service in the Faulkland’s on HMS Intrepid. He started this venture a few years ago with a mobile unit to check in on the Veterans of the island and his project has been growing since.

How to get discount on the bar & hotel?

We give 10% off the bar for Veteran’s, Blue Light Holders and those currently serving. This only applies with valid ID. Veteran, active members of the forces and Blue Light holders are entitled to 25% off their stay when booking direct through us and show a valid proof of entitlement for discount.

How many rooms do we have?

We have 12 rooms overall. Prices vary depending on the time of year and style of room. Rooms range from: Twin/double/king/single and en-suite/shared bathrooms with many rooms having picturesque views across the Solent towards Portsmouth

What is the Veteran Hub?

The Veteran’s Hub is Dale’s second project, opening a year before the pub and Hotel. This is a casual venue offering hot drinks and a chat. Many Veterans pop in for socialising with their fellow veterans. This is a safe space for those with PTSD and advice is readily given to put those that need it back on track.

The Veterans Hub Isle of Wight was set up to help relieve the hardship faced by veterans, serving military personnel and their families or friends who have a direct connection with the Isle of Wight. Either past or present, in respect of finance, trauma, isolation and well-being. The focus is friendly conversations with service personnel both past and present, their families and friends, the general public and emergency services has only emphasized that requirement further. Can I host an event/ wedding/ funeral/etc?

We are Licenced to host Services for Veteran Weddings and Funerals. If you wish to know more, get in touch.

How to donate?

Please click the donate page above should you wish to donate via bank transfer. Alternatively, you can pop in and donate into one of our buckets.

Are children allowed?

Due to Licensing conditions, Children (Below the age of 18) are allowed on site until 7pm only.

Are pets allowed?

Due to the inherent nature of entertainment nights dogs must vacate the premises by 8pm when entertainment is on. All dogs must be kept on leads when in the pub.
